Lighthouse Recovery Residences Inc.
8829 Centre, Suite 200, Southaven, MS 38671
Welcome! Thank you for taking time to learn more about Lighthouse Recovery Residences Inc. My name is Jimmy Franks and along with my wife Jimmie Sue Franks are the founders of Lighthouse Recovery Residences Inc.
Through personal experiences over the last few years we have come to understand that people who are suffering with desperate, unforeseen, life circumstances and those caught up in addictions come to a point in their lives where they need and want help. This is why we have established Lighthouse Recovery Residences Inc. God has given us a heart to care for people because God cares about people.
Lighthouse’s purpose is to provide an affordable, safe, home-like environment for men and women who are currently participating, in, or have completed primary residential treatment for substance dependence and who have a sincere desire to remain in a supportive recovering community as they practice and develop their sober lifestyle and continue to grow mentally, physically, spiritually, and socially.
Our Goal is to increase personal skill levels in the areas of: honesty, accountability, obtaining and maintaining gainful employment, social interaction, personal and financial responsibility, self esteem, goal setting and achievement.
We have established a network of professionals, associations, Christian faith-based recovery programs, and Behavioral Health Service providers to assist in establishing a recovery plan and actually being a part of an individual’s plan. We understand that each individual is different and respect the fact that they have a choice in determining what best fits them.
Thank you again, for your interest. We look forward to helping you.
Sincerely, Jimmy Franks
Provide an affordable, safe, home-like environment for men and women who are currently involved in treatment or have recently completed primary residential treatment for substance dependence who have the sincere desire to remain in a supportive recovering community as they practice and develop their sober, drug free lifestyle while they continue to grow mentally, physically, spiritually, and socially.
One of the most critical aspects of early recovery is that the individual change their environment to include, people, places, things and actions. We strive to provide that critically needed environment.
Time in treatment is a key factor. The national percentage rate of relapse (after a short stay in primary treatment) is approximately 85-90 percent. Without time to stabilize (and practice what they learn in treatment) residents often fall back into old mindsets, habits, and return to people, places and things that they know; “ a comfortable misery” or “living hell”. They lose hope, get discouraged and disappointed. Lighthouse Recovery Residencies Inc. is a much expanded version of the conventional “halfway house” concept. The most significant difference at Lighthouse is love for hurting people, as well as much closer supervision, oversight, direction and a holistic (mind-body-soul) approach to a new life in recovery.
Our homes are located in Desoto County, MS in residential areas that promote quiet, comfortable, clean living accommodations.
SUPPORT TEAM SYSTEM
We “capitalize on success”. Our network of professionals, house managers and staff have their individual successes that enable them to provide newcomers with individualized personalized attention that affords the best possible chance at recovery. Team members make sure that the new comer as well as other participants know exactly how, when, where and what to do in order to recover so practically that the only way a resident can fail is through lack of willingness. Team members are accountable for leading by example, motivating positive results, and to help make our expectations a reality for you.
Among our network of options are:
- The twelve –step program of Alcoholics Anonymous
- Celebrate Recovery (Colonial Hills Baptist Church) (8 Steps Celebrate Recovery)
- Independent Counseling Services (Intensive Outpatient Programs)
- Turning Point Recovery (Southaven, MS)
- LaPaloma Treatment Center (Memphis, TN)
- Parkwood Behavioral Systems (Olive Branch, MS)
- Lakeside Behavioral Systems (Memphis, TN)
- Other Behavioral Health Service curriculums.
If newcomers arrive with a recovery plan already established, our Team will assist that individual with their plan. If not, newcomers will be assisted in preparing a personalized recovery plan. This is where Lighthouse’s network of professionals, alcohol and drug associations, Christian faith-based recovery programs and behavioral health service providers set it apart from other transitional living homes. In some cases residents may attend the same meetings as others, in other cases they may attend different meetings at different locations during the week. Residents are encouraged to work during the day as long as work does not interfere with their recovery plans. For example, they must have time to change clothes, eat and have adequate time to prepare prior to attending meetings. A key factor in recovery is to ensure that undue pressures of the day, or work do not trigger old, bad habits. All residents, will be held accountable to follow their plan. Failure to follow their individualized plan will result in immediate termination of their contracts and eviction.
Qualified residents are responsible to pay $140 per week, single occupancy or $100 per week, double occupancy, excluding food.
A $300 admission fee, single occupancy is due upon admission. Likewise, an admission fee of $220 is due upon admission for double occupancy. The admission fee pays the resident’s first week administrative cost and is non-refundable, a non- refundable miscellaneous deposit and a refundable deposit if the resident leaves compliant and gives at least two weeks notice. The administrative fee includes a bed, washer dryer use, kitchen use, utilities, office supplies and other operating costs. There are no salaries paid, all our staff, board members and house managers are volunteers.
We also assist residents with food banks, food stamps or donations to provide residents subsistence support until they are gainfully employed.
We provide leads to a number of employers, as well as, the State of Mississippi employment sources to assist residents in finding full-time employment.
Individual monthly recognition will be held to acknowledge success.
