The SPDR Energy Select Sector exchange-traded fund fell 1.4% Thursday to close at a 16-month low, enough to kick off a new bear market. Many market participants define a bear market as a decline of 20% or more from a bull market peak. And the ETF tracking the energy sector (XLF), which is one of the S P 500 s 11 key sectors, has now lost 20.3% since closing at a bull-market peak of $77.83 on Dec. 13, 2016, which at the time was an 18-month high. Of the XLE s 32 components, 15 have tumbled more than 20% year to date, and 11 of lost more than 30%. The last bear market for the XLE had ended on March 7, 2016, when the XLE closed 20.5% above its previous bear market low of $51.77 on Jan. 20, 2016. On Thursday, 30 of the XLE s components closed lower, with shares of Marathon Oil Corp. down 3.3% to pace the decliners. Chesapeake Energy Corp. s stock slumped 3.0%, and was the most active component with 36 million shares traded. The XLE s losses Thursday come a rally in oil prices, as September crude oil futures settled up 0.7%.

A popular exchange-traded fund used to bet on the energy sector on Tuesday was looking at its worst daily decline in more than three months, according to FactSet data. The Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF was down 2.2% in recent trade, putting it on pace to log its steepest drop since March 8, when it plunged 2.6%. The slump in the energy-focused ETF was led by sharp drops in Transocean Ltd. Hess Corp. and Marathon Oil Corp. which were down at least 4%. All of the index s components were trading in the red, in early trade. The decline for the sector comes as crude-oil prices sink to a seven-month low and are flirting with a close in bear-market territory, defined as a fall of at least 20% from a recent peak. Crude s slump was putting pressure on the S P 500 index. with the energy sector the worst performer among the benchmark s 11 sectors, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average was lower, weighed by a 1.6% decline in shares of Chevron Corp. and a 1.3% fall in shares of Exxon Mobil Corp.

Energy stocks led S P 500 decliners on Tuesday, as crude oil prices extended recent losses after OPEC stopped short of more aggressive action to cut production. July West Texas Intermediate crude declined by 35 cents, or 0.7%, to $49.46 a barrel, as traders returned to their desks after the holiday weekend. Devon Energy was the biggest decliner, falling 2.8%. Kinder Morgan Inc. shed 2.6%, Hess Corp. fell 2.4% and Chesapeake Energy Corp. was down 2.5%. Cimarex Energy Co. fell 2.2% and Williams Companies Inc. was down 1.9%. Pioneer Natural Resources Corp. fell 1.9% and Marathon Oil Corp. was down 1.9%. Tesoro Corp. bucked the trend to gain 0.7%, after the stock was upgraded to overweight from equal weight Tuesday at Morgan Stanley. Analysts pointed to several catalysts for the oil refiner, including its acquisition of Western Refining Inc. which they expect will diversify its growth opportunities. The S P 500 was flat.

Shares of oil companies were broadly and sharply lower Thursday, after OPEC s decision to extend its production plan, rather than cut it, sent crude oil prices tumbling below $50 a barrel. The SPDR Energy Select Sector ETF dropped 1.4%, bucking the rally in the broader stock market, with 32 of its 34 equity components trading lower. Among the biggest losers and most-active shares, Transocean Ltd. sank 6.2%, Chesapeake Energy Corp. slid 5.3% and Marathon Oil Corp. shed 5.2%. Among the ETF s most-heavily weighted, shares of Exxon Mobil Corp. dropped 0.7%, Chevron Corp. shed 1% and Schlumberger Ltd. gave up 2.2%. The two XLE gainers were shares of Kinder Morgan Inc. up 0.3% and Tesoro Corp. up 2.3%. July crude oil futures plunged 4.8% to $48.91 a barrel. While the XLE tumbled, the S P 500 rallied 0.4% toward a record close.

Harmony School – Elementary Schools – 909 E 2nd St, Bloomington, IN

I can only review based on the baby room, so I m unfamiliar with what the previous reviewer was talking about. But as far as baby rooms go, this one is pretty great. My daughter previously went to one of the best daycares in Bloomington (and most expensive!!). But, only the best for her, as they say. Anyway, at the end of the day she seemed ready to go. Like she d had a nice, full day but that was that. Here I have to practically drag her away kicking and screaming! She just can t get enough. I really love that Mandy and Jess are completely child led. The day s activities are based on what the kids feel like doing, and everyday is an adventure. Lots of times the babies will mingle with the ECP classroom, or even bigger kids than that on the playground. Ani LOVES school. I will say that it is still fairly expensive (and in fact if she were to go for the same number of hours that she went to her previous school, it would actually be more expensive). However, we live in the US and that s the current state of affairs. I do really appreciate that they charge by the hour, so you can monitor what you ll end up paying each month and make it fit what you need. Mandy and Jess really do adore the kids and I am so happy to be able to send my girl there!

This is too important to not talk about: School officials close ranks to sweep student on student sexual assault incidents under the rug. I know for a fact of one incident. They won t tell you how many more incidents there might be. Two minor female students on a recent school field trip reported to a teacher during a trip that they were sexually assaulted by another student, an 18 year old male. There was almost a complete lack of supervision on the trip – 5 parents and 5 teachers chaperoned the trip, but they stayed in their own cabin, the kids stayed in their own coed cabins. The high school teacher, Sallyann Murphey, openly questioned whether the children were truthful instead of reporting the matter to CPS or the police as required. Harmony School s Executive Director, Steve Bonchek (Roc) defended the teacher s failure to act, and argued with the parents about what constitutes sexual assault. After being called to task about their response, school officials lawyered up and refused to discuss the incident with the families. I never expected Harmony to be like that – but beware – if they have to choose between self-preservation and the children, they will certainly choose to save themselves first.

Despite a sizable decline on a year-over-year basis, the pace of U.S. vehicle sales actually improved in July, figures from Autodata show. Vehicle sales rose to a 16.73 million seasonally adjusted annual rate in July, up from 16.64 million in June. That s ahead of the economist consensus for 16.9 million. Still, that s below the 17.81 million pace in the same month of 2016, and auto sales have been below 17 million for five straight months.

Shares of Ford Motor Co. dropped 2.9% in very active morning trade Tuesday, after the auto maker reported a sharp drop in car and truck sales in July. Volume topped 19 million shares within the first 30 minutes after the open, already more than half the full-day average, and enough to make the stock the most actively traded on the major U.S. exchanges. Ford said total vehicle sales for last month tumbled 7.5% from a year, as a 19.4% plunge in car sales and a 7.1% slide in truck sales offset a 2.2% rise in SUV sales. Separately, rival General Motors Co. s stock slid 3% after reporting July vehicle sales fell 14%. Ford s stock has now lost 10.2% year to date, while GM shares have edged up 0.2% and the S P 500 has gained 10.5%.

Randy’s Lock – Key – Keys & Locksmiths – 1834 Fire Tower

#

1834 Fire Tower Rd
Christiansburg. VA 24073
(540) 382-5897

I needed a late night rescue the night before Easter. Out of town visiting family and the Easter bunny a helper locked the keys in the car without getting all the goodies out of the car. After about 1 hour, Randy was to the rescue! He was able to quickly enter the vehicle and did a great job. No damage to the car at all. Great people! Honest, fair and trustworthy. If you need help- don t hesitate to call Randy. He will get the job done.

The first time I met this husband and wife team, they came to change my home locks. They are both so down to earth and reasonably priced. Randy even turned my deadbolts around since they had been put in with the key entry opposite of the door knob. The second time I needed them, I had locked my keys (car and house) inside and spare was in my locked car LOL They came quickly and got me in ASAP! Again, their pricing was very reasonable. I had called someone else by mistake and he first quoted me an outrageous price of twice the cost of Randy s. not cool. So glad I got a hold of them and will ALWAYS call them when I need an honest locksmith!!

I was running late one morning, I had the kids in the car buckled up and went to start my car (push button) and my car would not start. I had locked all of my keys in my home! Randy s Lock and Key arrived to my home within minutes and quickly got me into my home and on my way. They were friendly and very compassionate. Also very reasonably priced. They made sure that I was in-fact the owner of the home before working on my lock which made me feel safe as well. Definitely would recommend to anyone in need of a locksmith!!

I was on my way south on driving from NJ to Houston. I needed to rekey the doors as my key wasn t working. Gave them a call and they came and met me at the Walmart. They were quite nice, worked quick, and priced reasonably. Thanks guys!

The LASIK Vision Institute – 13 Photos – Optometrists – 7100 Forest

#

LVI was great, everyone was friendly and professional. The service was quick, much cheaper than several other providers I looked into and best of all I went from being 20/200 to 20/10 in 2 weeks!!

I got LASIK yesterday and I love the results! Results will vary regardless of what institute/company you get it done at. The customer service here is phenomenal. All the staff members are very knowledgeable and friendly. They really care about your well being and the experience/satisfaction of your LASIK surgery. 10/10 would recommend this company.

I ll admit what drew me to the Lasik Eye Institute was their pricing. They are a quarter of what others are charge. However, one week post opp and I m at 20/20 in both eyes. The procedure itself was far more intense than I was expecting however it was completely painless. All of the staff were incredibly customer service oriented, very friendly, and completely professional. Dr. Brusco talked me through every step before, during, and after the procedure. Night time vision is still a little tougher but I m confident this will improve as I heal. My only regret is not going to the Lasik Eye Institute and having my LASIK surgery done much much sooner.

If I could tell any perspective LASIK patient any piece of advice, it would be to AVOID this company. Very disappointed in the customer service and organization. When you go into your consultation, they will run a bunch of tests, dilute your eyes, and then give you a quote for the procedure. Then, if you want to schedule the procedure you will need to pay a $100 refundable deposit to secure your date. Thankfully, I decided to go with a local LASIK surgeon instead of a national one. I called within 48 hours and cancelled my appointment. It s been a month and I have NOT received my refundable deposit back. Called the corporate office to speak to a customer service representative, only got to speak to a computer or an answering machine. It took at least 5 different attempts to actually talk to someone. Their excuse, our case manager has been out and we ve had company employees flying in from different cities so your refund never got processed. Sounds like a scam to me. Avoid this company all together and go with a local LASIK surgeon who will actually answer your phone calls/questions. I did and I will be so glad to be done with this awful company

It s been three days since my Custom LASIK surgery, and my eyes feel amazing! There s no more discomfort, and my vision is just a bit blurry. As my eyes continue to heal, my vision becomes clearer. I estimate that I ll have 20/20 in about a week. The office is clean and the atmosphere is relaxing. Every nurse/doctor/staff member I encountered was very friendly, but professional. I had no hesitation and full confidence that my surgery was being handled by well equipped professionals. Most of the time spent there was for surgery prep and paperwork. The surgery itself was very quick. There s definitely discomfort, dare I say pain (mostly from stretching open my eyelids), but it s over so quickly. LASIK is amazing! Even with my eyes still recovering, I m seeing so well. No more glasses, no more contact lenses. I ve never felt freer in my life.

I was being seen at the va beach location but had the PRK done at this location. Easy to get too and the people who work at both locations are super nice. However, I had to wait over 4 hours over my scheduled appointment time to be seen because they over boarded several appointments. Even tho.they were nice I won t be going back I don t have a 8 hrs to kill between drive time and to be seen on my scheduled appointment.

Do NOT go here! If you change your mind and need a refund, they ll keep your money for 4 – 6 weeks! So while you re waiting for your refund, they ll take there time while they earn interest on it. They don t care about you or your eyes. only about money.

I recently had LASIK done at the Forest Ave location in Richmond. It has been a great experience! The staff is helpful and very pleasant. I would highly recommend them! Ida
