Dr. Hebert is a pediatric neuropsychologist who has experience providing consultations, evaluations, and assistance with treatment planning for children, adolescents, and young adults with a variety of learning disabilities and developmental and acquired neuropsychological conditions. Dr. Hebert received her Bachelor’s degree from Bates College, where she majored in Psychology and Educational Studies. Following graduation, Dr. Hebert worked with children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders and severe maladaptive behavior at the New England Center for Children. It was there that she gained training and experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. Dr. Hebert completed her graduate education and training at Widener University’s Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology, where she specialized in neuropsychology and school psychology. While at Widener, her research focused on nonverbal learning disabilities (NLD). Dr. Hebert completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Boston Neuropsychological Services (BNS) in Needham. She is a BCBS provider.

Dr. Jessica Benetti-McQuoid is a clinical psychologist with specialty training in pediatric neuropsychology. She is experienced in providing comprehensive evaluations for school-aged children, adolescents and young adults presenting with a range of developmental, cognitive, learning, emotional and behavioral challenges. Additionally, Dr. Benetti-McQuoid remains available for ongoing consultation as it pertains to treatment planning. She has presented to numerous parent groups and has participated in clinical training of post-doctoral fellows.

Dr. Benetti-McQuoid completed her undergraduate and graduate education in psychology at Suffolk University. Subsequent to completion of her doctoral program, she obtained advanced clinical training in pediatric neuropsychology at the Children’s Evaluation Center, in Newton, MA. Dr. Benetti-McQuoid has provided evaluative and treatment services in both clinical and educational settings as well as private practice. She is a Harvard Pilgrim and BCBS provider.

Dr. Pearce is a postdoctoral fellow with education and training in neuropsychological assessment across the lifespan. She received her Bachelor’s degree from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, where she majored in Psychology and minored in Italian. After graduation, she worked in Springfield, MA providing therapeutic mentoring services to children and adolescents. She received her doctoral degree from Antioch University New England in Keene, NH. Her pre-doctoral training included the provision of psychotherapy and neuropsychological assessment services to children, adolescents, and adults with developmental disorders, learning disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, mood disorders, developmental trauma, severe brain injury, concussion, and dementia. Her research at Antioch focused on the relationships between family stress, social support, and physical function in adults receiving rehabilitation after acquired brain injury. Dr. Pearce completed her pre-doctoral internship at Frontier Health, a community mental health system in East Tennessee, where she provided psychotherapy andpsychological assessment services to a variety of populations.

Essential Information

Physical therapy assistant (PTA) programs are typically offered at the associate’s degree level. In Oklahoma, more than a few schools offer such programs and they may typically be completed in about two years. Curriculum includes general education classes, traditional classroom-based learning, lab instruction, and practicum requirements in the form of clinical rotations.

Caddo Kiowa Technology Center

Only 14 students are admitted into Caddo Kiowa Technology Center’s (CKTC) PTA program in Fort Cobb. Prior to applying to the program, students must complete the general education and technical occupational support classes at Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s Sayre or Weatherford campus or at another approved institution. The technical occupational specialty courses that are completed at CKTC take about 2 semesters. Class topics include fundamental human needs, pain control, and therapeutic exercise. A practicum is completed in each semester.

Carl Albert State College

The PTA associate’s degree program at Carl Albert State College in Poteau features competitive admission that is based on ACT scores, GPAs, prerequisite courses, and observation hours. This 2-year program includes classes like anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, therapeutic procedures, and rehabilitative exercises. Students complete 3 clinical experiences during the last year of the program.

Murray State College

Murray State College in Tishomingo offers a 2-year physical therapist assistant program that awards an Associate in Applied Science. Students focus on general education courses in the first year, and application to the program occurs after first-year requirements are met. Core requirements for the second year include topics such as anatomy and movement, kinesiology, and rehabilitation. Students also participate in 2 practicums. Recommended electives include medical terminology, first aid, and sociology.

Northeastern Oklahoma A M College

Approximately 95% of the physical therapist assistant program’s 2009-2011 graduates passed the licensure exam at this Miami college, and 100% of all program graduates who passed the exam and actively pursued employment were hired within 6 months of obtaining licensure. Before being admitted into the program, students must complete general education courses and classes in anatomy and physiology, and medical vocabulary. Once admitted, students take classes like physical therapeutic methods, kinesiology, and neurology. Students also complete several weeks of clinical rotations.

Southwestern Oklahoma State University

Students interested in the Physical Therapist Assistant AAS program can take the general education and technical occupational support courses at the Sayre or Weatherford campuses. Technical occupational specialty courses for the program are taken at the Caddo Kiowa Technology Center. The support classes include instruction in first aid, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and medical vocabulary. The specialty classes include physical therapy, pain management, rehabilitative exercises, and physical therapy issues. Two practicums are also included in the curriculum.

Tulsa Community College

Up to 35 students can be accepted each year into the PTA program at this college in Tulsa. The curriculum requires 68 credits, 46 of which are earned through physical therapy assistant classes. These classes include pathophysiology, pharmacology, human development, and rehabilitative exercises. Students also receive supervised training in clinical settings.

Exemption of Continuing Competency Requirements

The Virginia Board of Physical Therapy in accordance with Section 18VAC112-20-131(C) of the Regulations, entitled Continued Competency Requirements for Renewal of an Active License , exempts a licensee from the continuing competency requirements for the first biennial renewal following the date of initial licensure by examination in Virginia. This exemption does not include those who were licensed by endorsement.

Extension of renewal requirements for deployed military and spouses
Virginia law allows active duty service people or their spouses who are deployed outside the U.S. to have an extension of time for any requirement or fee pertaining to renewal until 60 days after the person s return from deployment. The extension cannot last beyond 5 years past the expiration date for the license. For more information, please read attached policy and contact the applicable board for your license.

The Center for Music Therapy was founded in 1990 to make music therapy more accessible to the Central Texas area. Services are based on the founding principle of gratitude. Founder and President, Hope E. Young, MT-BC has been in practice in Austin since 1990, working with children, adolescents, adults and older adults. Proud to be a locally owned Austin original business, the Center is also the first and oldest for profit music therapy facility in the world. Students taking EDMA courses through Continuing Education and Professional Development during the 2016 calendar year will not have a 1098T tax form available for viewing in blueView unless they were enrolled in a Drake degree program. In so far as is possible, Drake University will provide information, upon request, to any person concerning charges and payments related to their own academic activity at Drake University, regardless of whether or not a 1098T statement was generated. However, under the provisions of FERPA, financial information is protected information that will not be released to any person, other than the student, without the student s express written consent. Persons who must have this consent to obtain information include a spouse, parent, or tax preparer. Questions should be directed to Student Account Services, (515) 271-2151, Option 4.
