Dr. Nikita Levy Lawsuits Against Johns Hopkins

Lawyers for Patients of Dr. Levy at Johns Hopkins

Former patients of Dr. Nikita Levy. a gynecologist and obstetrician (OB-GYN) affiliated with Johns Hopkins Hospital have important legal rights and may be entitled to financial compensation as a result of an invasion privacy and other damages caused by the unauthorized photographing and videotaping of patients .

The medical malpractice lawyers at Saiontz Kirk, P.A. are providing free and confidential consultations for Dr. Nikita Levy patients treated at the East Baltimore Medical Center or other Johns Hopkins medical clinics, who may have lawsuits for:

  • Invasion of Property
  • Emotional Distress
  • Lack of Supervision and Oversight Failure by Johns Hopkins
  • Lack of Informed Consent

It is important for all former patients to take steps to protect their legal rights! The lawyers at Saiontz Kirk, P.A. are handling all Dr. Nikita Levy Hopkins lawsuits under a contingency fee agreement, which means that there are no costs to hire our law firm and you pay no fees or expenses unless a recovery is obtained in your case. No Fees or Expenses Unless You Are Paid

Johns Hopkins and Dr. Nikita Levy Taking Photos, Videos of Patients

Dr. Nikita Levy Johns Hopkins Lawsuit

The lawyers at Saiontz Kirk are investigating potential claims for all former patients of Dr. Nikita Levy at Johns Hopkins Hospital s East Baltimore Medical Center or other facilities.

Johns Hopkins Hospital and Baltimore police are investigating the unauthorized photographing and videotaping of certain patients treated by Dr. Nikita Levy, who was found dead at his Towson home in Baltimore County on February 18.

Police have discovered substantial video and photographic evidence indicating that Dr. Levy was recording women during examination.

It is unclear at this time how long this severe violation of privacy was ongoing, or what steps Johns Hopkins may have failed to take to prevent this. However, police indicate that multiple cameras, including one located inside a pen and several hidden cameras potentially used in a Johns Hopkins exam room have been found.

Dr. Levy began working for Johns Hopkins in 1988, after obtaining his medical license. Over the past 25 years, hundreds of OB/GYN patients were treated by Dr. Levy at the East Baltimore Medical Center and other Hopkins clinics.

Johns Hopkins now reports that it first learned about the photographing and videotaping of patients by Dr. Nikita Levy on February 4, 2013. However, it is possible that Hopkins missed important signs of problems and it appears likely that better supervision and oversight could have prevented this severe invasion of patient privacy.

Invasion of Privacy and Lack of Supervision

The photographing and videotaping of OB/GYN patients by Dr. Nikita Levy represents a violation of trust at an almost unthinkable level. During an OB/GYN examination, patients place their trust and confidence in the doctor, violating this trust in such a vulnerable position should never have been permitted to happen.

Since patients began to learn about what happened at the Hopkins clinic, hundreds of women have contacted the Dr. Nikita Levy patient lawyers at Saiontz Kirk, P.A. to review their legal rights. A number of women are reporting alarming information, including indications that steps could have been taken by Hopkins to prevent Dr. Levy from photographing or recording patients:

  • Most patients report that Dr. Levy never had another Johns Hopkins nurse or employee in the room during the OB/GYN examinations. This is contrary to the official AMA guidelines. which recommend that doctors have chaperons available on a consistent basis, especially during such a vulnerable gynecology exam.
  • Dr. Levy s OB/GYN exam table reportedly faced the wall, which many patients found unusual and now raises potential concerns about the security and oversight by Johns Hopkins
  • Patients report that Dr. Levy moved around a lot during examinations. When questioned, some women indicate that Dr. Levy stated he was setting up equipment for the exam.
  • The length of breast and vaginal exams, as well as the methods used by Dr. Levy made many patients feel uncomfortable.
  • A number of women indicate that they switched doctors or to a different practice because of the unusual nature of Dr. Levy s examinations.

Johns Hopkins Nikita Levy Class Action Lawsuit Lawyers

Individual claims and class action lawsuits are being reviewed for former Johns Hopkins patients of Dr. Nikita Levy.

Through a Dr. Nikita Levy lawsuit against Johns Hopkins. former patients may be able to secure closure for these events and such cases may also help prevent medical providers from allowing such invasions of privacy to occur at their facilities in the future.

The lawyers at Saiontz Kirk, P.A. have the experience and resources necessary to make sure former patients of Dr. Nikita Levy are protected and obtain all of the financial compensation they may be entitled to receive. Cases are being reviewed for all women who were treated by Dr. Levy, and there are no fees or expenses unless a recovery is obtained .

Why Businesses Prefer a Liberal Arts Education

ImagesBazaar |The Agency Collection | Getty Images

What do American businesses want from their college hires? According to a new survey, creative thinkers and better communicators—both of which are said to be in short supply.

The survey of CEOs by the Association of American Colleges and Universities found that 74 percent said they would recommend a 21st-century liberal education in order to create a more dynamic worker. The survey of 320 business leaders was conducted in January. Results were released last week.

For some analysts, the findings point to an overemphasis on the so called STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and math) at the expense of a broader education that’s also needed for business.

“A stem education is important but I think it’s sucked all the oxygen out of the room and crowded out investment in other areas like history, literature and political science,” said Jamie McKown, chairman of the government and polity department at the College of the Atlantic.

“I think the U.S. will lose some of its competitive edge if it takes the simplistic approach that this (STEM education) is the only pathway to economic success.”

A key result in the survey is the need for innovation in the workplace. Ninety-five percent of those surveyed said they look for college graduates who can think clearly and solve problems and be able to translate their ideas with good oral and communication skills.

One business owner said these talents are at top of his list for hiring.

“We want task-orientated people who have disciplines in critical thinking,” said Michael Fromm, CEO of Fromm Electric, an electrical manufacturing firm based in Reading, Pa.

“If someone’s studied literature, they know people and have insight into themselves and customers,” said Fromm, who majored in journalism. “I find people that have a liberal arts background have a broader view of the world and will go farther in business.”

The survey also found that business executives thought colleges weren’t teaching students what they need to know to succeed. A third of employers said graduates weren’t even qualified for entry level work when it came to reading and writing.

“Companies want people who are functionally literate and can read and write,” said Jonathan Hill, co-director of the Stem Center at Pace University. “When business students come here, they learn the computer languages but we also make them take a foreign language. The idea is to have graduates strong in their chosen business area and in the arts, like writing and reading.”

“Our business students take more liberal arts classes, like the humanities, literature and art, than they take business classes,” said Donald Gibson, dean of Fairfield University. “This is rare among colleges, but we think this makes them more well rounded and better at succeeding in their chose field of business.”

But a liberal education, one that might focus on the arts and humanities, has come under fire lately in an economy that’s slow to create jobs.

Governors in Florida, Texas, and North Carolina have said they are thinking of shifting state funding to degrees that have the best job prospects—specifically those in math, science and technology and away from liberal arts. They cite the need to improve a graduate’s work prospects, with unemployment hovering around 7.6 percent.

“It’s easier to sell math and science as a political selling point with the current economic moment,” said McKown. “That’s nothing new, though the data suggests it’s not necessarily more relevant for employers.”

A focus on a STEM education as well as liberal arts should be part of any argument, said Mauri Ditzler, president of Monmouth College.

“To say that the country is spending too much time on science and math at the expense of liberal arts is a wrong distinction,” Ditzler said. “It’s important for students to have humanities as well as math and science. That’s what we do here at Monmouth. We expose students to all areas of education.”

Only 8 percent of college students now major in the humanities, according to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. That’s down from a peak of more than 17 percent in 1967. For Gibson, that’s a sign of economic pressure.

“There’s a strong concern by students and parents to focus on an education that seems like an immediate gateway to a job,” the Fairfield University dean said. “But they’re not getting the full education they need. They end up missing some basic skills that businesses want.”

For Brian Fox, an adjunct professor at Vanderbilt University and founder of Confirmation.com, a firm that specializes in electronic audit confirmations, students must realize they have to change with the times.

“Businesses want more now,” Fox said. “In places like Google. they want people who are self-motivated and articulate and can think on their own. It’s not enough just to have tech skills. Graduates have to do more.”

2010 Mercedes-Benz SL Class Review, Ratings, Specs, Prices, and Photos – The

2010 Mercedes-Benz SL Class Review

The 2010 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class roadsters challenge luxury grand tourers and high-energy exotics alike with stupendously powerful engines and enviable ride quality.

TheCarConnection.com’s editors have driven the latest Mercedes-Benz SL-Class roadsters and have written this road test from those experiences. Editors have compared the new Benz SL with other high-end sports cars to help you narrow your choices. Finally, editors have put together a full review of opinions and quotes from other publications to give you a comprehensive look at the 2010 Mercedes-Benz SL.

The 2010 Mercedes-Benz SL is the German automaker’s most expensive convertible-for the time being. It slots beneath the new 2010 SLS AMG in the sports car realm, in price and performance, but not by much. Offered in V-8 versions (SL550 and SL63 AMG) and V-12 editions (SL600 and SL65 AMG), the 2010 SL-Class carries a base price of $100,000 for the SL550, leaping to a stunning $196,000 for the SL65 AMG. The 2010 SL-Class roadsters compete with the likes of the Porsche 911, Ferrari California, Jaguar XK, and Audi R8.

With a styling revamp in the 2009 model year, the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is no longer the chic trophy-wife piece it once was. Mercedes refashioned the SL’s nose and flanks to lend it some testosterone, and it’s effective. The nose has more edge and looks more chiseled, with a large single-bar grille that recalls some classic Benz roadsters while framing a large three-pointed star badge. The rear end is also tidied, and in all, the look is now more unified with the crisp new E-Class and C-Class range-not to mention the 2010 SLS AMG gullwing.
AMG versions wear deeper front air dams, a more pronounced grille, a hood with twin power bulges, and side and rear-end skirts for a distinct look. The Benz SL’s interior saw less change last year; for 2010 a wood-and-leather steering wheel has been fitted to the elegant and sporty interior, along with new instruments.

The 2010 Mercedes-Benz SL range includes four distinct models, each with unbelievable power and acceleration. The SL550 has a 5.5-liter V-8 with 382 horsepower, and in tandem with a seven-speed automatic, accelerates to 60 mph in under 6 seconds, according to Mercedes. Next up is the SL600 and its twin-turbo, 510-hp 5.5-liter V-12 and five-speed automatic; Mercedes pegs its 0-60 mph time at 4.4 seconds. Two AMG models get their own powertrains: The SL63 AMG thunders along with the new AMG V-8 worth 518 hp, teamed to an automated-manual seven-speed transmission and good for 0-60 mph times of less than 4.8 seconds. Atop the lineup for mortals is a 604-hp, twin-turbo, 6.0-liter V-12 SL65 AMG that shoves its power through a five-speed automatic and slingshots to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds. All versions have a stock limited top speed of 155 mph, and all SL-Class roadsters offer paddle shifters and rapid gearchanges. There’s yet another SL-the SL65 AMG Black Series-that’s really a race-ready tourer with a fixed roof and a wide carbon-fiber body. In general, the AMG editions have an altogether different driving feel from the non-AMG SL-Class roadsters, with tauter tuning and quicker steering. All versions have new Direct Steer systems with better road feel, and even the AMG cars have a surprisingly comfortable, absorbent ride. Mercedes fits an Active Body Control (ABC) suspension to all versions and gives drivers control over comfort, normal, and sport driving modes. Fuel economy’s fairly abysmal, with the best figures of 13/21 mpg coming with the “base” SL550.

Common to all 2010 Benz SL roadsters is a plush, spacious interior that’s an enviable environment for long-distance road trips. The cozy, well-trimmed dash wears wood, leather, and aluminum trim in warm balance. The seats are among the finest in the class, with all sorts of power adjustments, along with massage and heat functions, and the packaging gives passengers ample legroom and headroom, even with the convertible roof raised. In several experiences with the previous SL, TheCarConnection.com finds the top arrangement incredibly tight to make an interior that was quieter and more refined than most coupes. Some interior materials may seem slightly off the million-dollar mark, but mostly the SL-Class is a rich place to ride.

Neither NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) nor the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) has tested the 2010 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class for crash safety. There are extensive standard safety features on board each SL roadster, including dual front airbags and thorax airbags that inflate to give head protection, along with a driver knee airbag. Anti-lock brakes, as well as stability and traction control, are fitted, along with a pop-up roll bar that deploys automatically in the event of a rollover. TeleAid emergency telematics are also standard, including automatic collision notification. The SL does offer parking sensors and adaptive cruise control, but other safety features such as a rearview camera and lane-departure warning systems are not available.

Each 2010 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class roadster is plushly outfitted. Standard equipment includes 18-inch wheels; dual-zone climate control; a telescoping steering wheel; power seats; leather upholstery; DVD navigation; an AM/FM/CD/DVD changer with iPod integration, Sirius Satellite Radio, real-time traffic, Harman Kardon surround sound, and HD Radio; and Bluetooth. Multicontour seats are optional on some models, and the AIRSCARF system, which blows warm air at neck level when the top’s lowered, is available.

Need online math credit

Rio Salado. You can enroll for a class starting next monday and the courses say 8 or 16 weeks, but as soon as you finish the class work the teachers submit the grades. It’s all very quick. I finished an economics class in 2 weeks. and I’m working on another right now.

College of Southern Nevada, they aren’t as flexible but if you act fast you can get in on one of their classes. Their semester started Monday, but some teachers are still letting students in classes.

Clep- College Algebra. Get a book and review and you can take it asap. Depending on how long ago your math class was and how much you remember depends on how much you will need to prepare.

Edukan, I have never looked at their courses, but I’ve seen lots of people use them on this board and I will use them for my Spanish courses ( I have to take a foreign language for my other major)

Good luck on getting it all done quick.

I did finish a whole semester of Macroeconomics in two weeks.

The courses have dates where things are do, but you are free to work ahead. I read about two chapters a day and ended up with a B. I had problems with understanding the questions for the multiple choice. I got perfect scores on all of the essay questions. I suck at APA formatting, but I seemed to do well enough to get done. They do have microbiology offered in 16 and 8 week formats. I have not tried the science courses yet. I believe with micro you have to have the midterm and final proctored so it might take a bit longer to arrange.

Jan 27, ’11 by Nervous1

I just finished College Algebra thru Straighterline today (took a week) and am having my scores transcripted thru Fort Hayes State University. It cost me $99+39 and Fort Hayes lists the credit just as I would have taken it direct thru them for a $30 fee. YOu could ask if they would accept a College Algebra class thru FHSU and go that route.

There are more than five options to obtaining quick college credit in college-level math:

1. Straighterline.com: they offer self-paced courses that can be completed in a week if you are really strong at math. Their offerings include College Algebra, Statistics, Precalculus, and General Calculus. You will need to have the course transcribed at a partner college in order to receive 3 semester hours worth of college credit for the class. Fort Hays State University charges a $30 application fee for transcribing the class onto an official transcript.

2. ALEKS.com: for $20 per month, you can enroll in their intermediate algebra course. As soon as you score 70% or greater on one of their assessments, you can have the course transcribed on an ACE transcript that qualifies for 3 semester hours worth of college credit in mathematics. ALEKS also offers college algebra, statistics, and other interesting offerings that qualify for ACE-approved college credit upon completion.

3. CLEP exams: for about $80, you can test out of college-level math and receive 3 semester hours worth of college credit that is accepted at thousands of colleges and universities.

4. CALCampus: they offer several accredited, self-paced college-level math courses.

5. Independent Study in Idaho: they offer online and print-based college-level math courses that are reasonably-priced at about $100 per credit.

If anyone is interested in cheap college credits to satisfy a degree requirement, I can surely offer advice. In fact, I am looking to complete as many cheap college courses as possible without setting foot in another classroom due to time constraints.

Difference Between USPS First Class and Priority and Express Mail #priority #mail, first

Difference Between USPS First Class and Priority and Express Mail

USPS First Class vs Priority vs Express Mail

The difference between USPS First Class, Priority and Express Mail is in the duration they take to deliver the item, and naturally, the related costs. If you do not know, these are the names of three of the most popular services from USPS, the United States Postal Service. All three belong to domestic services that include both letters and other documents, including parcels and shipments. There are obvious differences between these three services pertaining to limit of weights and volumes of parcels, duration each takes to deliver the parcels across different locations and, of course, the prices of the services. If you have just arrived in the US or have not made use of USPS before, knowing the differences between first class, priority, and express services is crucial for not just saving a few dollars, but also to make sure your letter or document is delivered on time.

If you are running a small home based business, where you need to deliver the orders received on your website, you have to have a system of delivery to ensure satisfied customers. If you do not need to hurry and your customers can wait for 3-4 days for their orders, both First Class and Priority happen to be extremely effective, low cost postal services that can supply your shipments on time to your customers.

What is USPS First Class Mail?

First class mail is the cheapest mailing service available under USPS for lightweight items such as letters. cards, or small parcels. Barring Alaska and Hawaii, most of the destinations across US are covered by First Class mail in 2 to 3 business days at rock bottom rates. However, there are certain restrictions on the weight of the packages or envelopes; the weight is allowed only up to 13 ounces. The pricing changes with the size, shape, and weight and it starts from $ 0.49 (2015 March).

What is Priority Mail?

Priority Mail is also a fast mail service like first class mail, but here, you can send bulky parcels. So, if you are to send a parcel weighing above 13 ounces and up to 70 pounds and require faster delivery, you need to take Priority mail services that deliver within 1 to 3 business days across most of the locations inside the country. However, there is no guarantee though. In most of the instances delivery does take place within 2 days. For priority mail, you also get flat rate options that are based on envelope size or the volume of the box, which is beneficial if you need to deliver many items in a given weight range. Weight restriction of 70 pounds applies. But, if your parcel does not fit into those sizes or shape, the pricing will be calculated based on the weight and the delivery zone.

What is Express Mail?

Express mail or express priority mail is the highest type of mail available in USPS. There are times in a year when shipments do get late such as Christmas, New Year, and the whole of December in general. This is when you need to be cautious and upgrade to Express mail service that is the fastest of the three mail services. It guarantees delivery of your parcel or envelope within 24 hours, or overnight delivery as they claim. However, Express is the costliest of the three options with each parcel costing more than $10. Using Priority and First Class, you can very well send parcels in less than $6. With Express service, you also stand to get an insurance cover of up to $100 should there be loss or damage to your item in transit. Priority express mail also has flat rate options based on size and volume and a weight restriction of 70 pounds applies.

What is the difference between USPS First Class and Priority and Express Mail?

First Class, Priority, and Express are three different mail services of USPS. USPS stands for United States Postal Service. They make sure your parcel is delivered to the place you want as quickly as possible. When you choose one or the other, you are also choosing how fast you need the item delivered and what cost you are going to bear for that.

• Features of First Class and Priority Mail and Express Mail:

• First Class Mail is the entry level service that delivers your letters and parcels up to 13 ounce weight to nearly all locations (barring Alaska and Hawaii) in 2 – 3 business days. This is suitable if you have a document or a small parcel and want a fast and affordable way to send it across the country.

• Priority Mail is a service that delivers shipments weighing up to 70 pounds in 1 – 3 business days across all destinations inside the country.

• Priority Express Mail is the costliest of the three services with an insurance cover and overnight delivery. It also has a weight restriction of 70 pounds.

• Cost:

Cost is calculated differently for different mail services. Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express has flat rate options. Here are the prices ranges for each category as at 2015 March.

• First Class Mail pricing ranges from $ 0.49 $ 4.12 at retail. Pricing is based on weight and type of items; that is, whether it is letter, large envelope, or parcel.

• Priority Mail pricing ranges from $ 5.75 $ 166.75 at retail.

• Priority Express Mail pricing ranges from $ 16.95 $ 460.25 at retail.

• For both Priority Mail and Priority Express Mail, flat rate pricing is based on the envelope size or the box volume. If the parcel does not comply with the size and shape of the flat rate products, the pricing is done based on weight and delivery zone.

• Delivery Time:

• First Class Mail delivers in 2 to 3 business days.

• Priority Mail also delivers in 1 to 3 business days.

• Priority Express Mail delivers overnight.

• Weight Restriction:

• First Class allows up to 13 ounces.

• Priority and Priority Express Mail have weight limit at 70 pounds.

• Tracking Facility:

• Both Priority Mail and Express Mail have tracking facility.

• First Class does not have tracking, but you can get it included by purchasing an extra service. So that is conditional.

• Signature on Delivery:

• For both Priority Mail and Express Mail signature on delivery is available.

• First Class Mail only has this facility for parcels.

As you can see all these three mailing services give the public and opportunity to choose as service that is suitable to their needs. First Class mail delivers within 2 – 3 days. Priority mail delivers within 1 3 days. Express mail delivers overnight. They also come with other facilities such as tracking and signature on delivery.
